A heartfelt space where creativity and grandmotherhood intertwine to support mental well-being. Through my art, crafts and writing, I honor the bonds of family, the power of friendship, and the beauty of memories, all while nurturing my own mental health. My mission is to inspire others to find peace and joy through creativity, rooted in the timeless values of family, remembrance, and the unique role of being a grandmother.

Spring Cleaning
I drew this as a journal prompt for Journal 52: Spring Cleaning. I was having fun with my copic markers - I have been working on faces quite a bit lately, and am really enjoying playing with the facial tones, blending color combinations. I usually work with a fine black liner, but decided I would see what would happen if I just worked with the pens alone. I did my preliminary sketch with a prismacolor water soluble pencil in rose, which blends so nicely into the copics more than a regular pencil would. I love her side smirk!

Just Be
Journal 52, for this week, Just Be. I thought I would give my words some "Maui flavor", as Maui is one of my favourite places to practice this mantra!

It's warm in my art room!
With the last few days' temperatures averaging a chilly -25 Celsius during the day (not counting the wind chill) I have been able to make good on one of my words of intention for 2015 (CREATIVE) and spent some quality time in my art room yesterday. This is a page inside my Wellness Journal. I am not sure if I like the polka dot letters or not - they do make it a little difficult to read...but that white pen is just so much fun!

Sometimes I can't part with them...
Once again, I made over 100 Christmas Cards for the Craft Sales. I love them all, but every once in a while, I make one that I cannot part with. I fell in love with these 3 little people, and the way that all of the elements just came together so nicely. So now, it is gracing my desk at work. It makes me happy every time I look at it. I hope it makes you happy, too!

Percy's Guitar
Every once in a while you work on a piece, and the process is pure magic. I wish they all flowed out of me the way this one did! A commissioned piece for a friend - she wanted this for her husband for Christmas. Of course, in my excitement to deliver the finished piece, I did not take a proper scan, and simply took a quick pic with my phone to share with you all.

Christmas Ornaments
The King's Guild Christmas Craft Sale is coming up again in a few weeks, so I have started putting together some things for my table. These little sweeties are something new that I have put together this year. They are made from sample tags for counter tops. The perfect size and weight for Christmas Tree ornaments!
