Snowflake Heaven
Dare I post this? Maybe I should have waited until December....
but I loved the quote, and had to make some ATC's for a swap coming up....
I liked the colour combination as well - I thought the blues gave a nice "icy" feel to the card.

Cold
This is the drawing that I did for Illustration Friday. Not really something I want to think about - especially with a possibility of snow overnight in our Alberta weather forecast! However, the snowman seemed so appropriate - I guess I could have drawn a popsicle...oh well! If I wake up to a winter wonderland, I am blaming Illustration Friday!

I am sorry, but there is only one way to interpret the word FLOAT. And that would be ROOTBEER.

Eye
For the Everyday Matters Challenge...
I used a regular HB pencil for this drawing - I would like to try it again with some varying pencils...
I was happy with how it turned out - not sure if I could do a whole face, though!

fall haiku
I did this for a sample of a challenge in my Additional Alphabets lettering class. This is one of the alphabets students learn how to do. I thought a haiku lent itself very well to this type of layout.

diane
I do not usually post artwork that is not my own, but in this case I had to make an exception. This was done for me by Diane Salter, who has taken my lettering classes. I think she is doing a FABULOUS JOB - don't you? Thanks again, Diane!
I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you out there who have taken my online classes! Your support and enthusiasm means so much to me...a sincere thanks to you all.
Friends
Just something for fun - I took the image of the bears from a greeting card that I have saved for many years, because I loved it so much.

Water sprite?
Mermaid? Water sprite? I thought she looked like one of those sea monkeys in the back of the comic books when I was a kid...
dollar store frame
I found these great frames at Dollarama - for - you guessed it - one dollar! They fit my atc's quite nicely, and I thought they were a fun way to feature some of my art around the house.

Altered Box Project...
This was a wooden jewelery box that I took from Corrinne at one of the PHAP meetings, so that I could alter it. I decided to alter it in a 70's theme, pulling pop culture images and memories and from my preteen and early teen years. The colour scheme was from my childhood bedroom. I am using the box as a place to keep some keepsakes from those days. I have never attempted anything like this before, but was thrilled with the end result.
Altered Wooden Box...
The inside is lined with shag carpet from my childhood bedroom. And yes, that is my retainer that I had to wear in junior high!

Words to Inspire...
A page in my composition book journal. I used post-it notes to mask areas, and used chalks to make the frames for the various words.
