I knit this tiny sweater for my sister-in-law, to hang on her Christmas tree.

Sometimes I can't part with them...

Once again, I made over 100 Christmas Cards for the Craft Sales.  I love them all, but every once in a while, I make one that I cannot part with. I fell in love with these 3 little people, and the way that all of the elements just came together so nicely.  So now, it is gracing my desk at work. It makes me happy every time I look at it. I hope it makes you happy, too!

Percy's Guitar

Every once in a while you work on a piece, and the process is pure magic. I wish they all flowed out of me the way this one did!  A commissioned piece for a friend - she wanted this for her husband for Christmas. Of course, in my excitement to deliver the finished piece, I did not take a proper scan, and simply took a quick pic with my phone to share with you all.

Christmas Ornaments

The King's Guild Christmas Craft Sale is coming up again in a few weeks, so I have started putting together some things for my table.  These little sweeties are something new that I have put together this year.  They are made from sample tags for counter tops.  The perfect size and weight for Christmas Tree ornaments!

Skyline

A fun little scribble using my copic markers for the Journal52 Challenge: City
I forgot how rewarding it can be to work with a limited colour palette!   This is a VERY rough representation of the skyline here in my hometown, Edmonton, Alberta.

Joy

A journal page that I am enjoying in my office before it is added to my journal.  A flower made from vintage lace and jewelry adds just what is needed.

Tuesday, April 08, 2014

This was created as a response to a Journal 52 prompt, selecting a color swatch and working from it to create a journal page.  This is a color combination that I often enjoy working with.  I find the soft, cool colors very soothing.  The quote resonated with me, because this is how I feel when it comes to a lot of my art.  I hope you enjoy it, as much as I enjoyed creating it!

A Simple Place

I am participating in a group called JOURNAL 52, which offers weekly prompts for us to work with in our art journals.  For the prompt "A Simple Place" I chose one of my happiest places, a place I wish I could visit more:

January Words

A lovely quote by T.S. Eliot, appropriate for the start of a New Year.
