Lace Flower

A lovely lace flower for one of my cards.  Made with lace and vintage jewellery found on one of my garage sale treasure hunts.

Nightmare Monkey

I call this the Nightmare Monkey, because this project was definitely a lesson in patience!  I was not sure if I had read the pattern correctly until the last bit of stuffing went in, and was relieved that he actually looked like a monkey!  Add in the fact that I chose some really difficult wool to work with (the colours are beautiful, but the yarn kept breaking off mid-stitch) and I was tempted to abandon this project many times.  However, the end result ended up being pretty good, and my eighteen year old son has claimed his as his own.  So I guess the nightmare was worthwhile in the long run!

Punkin Head

I knit this up the past weekend, for a friend from work who is having an October baby.  I used the Punkin Head pattern by Tara Thomsen, that I found through the Ravelry website.  It was so easy, and fun to do!  I can't wait to see how it looks on the new baby!

Well, I spent some time on my summer vacation this year creating some new collaged cards.  I have had lots of fun with some new techniques.  As usual, my cards are all blank inside, so that each person can write their own custom message.

My cards are $5 each, or 5 for $20 (with shipping extra)

Please let me know if you are interested in any of these cards, or if you would like me to create a custom card for you! I love working with specific photos that you may have!

Here are some backgrounds I have prepared with Watercolors, for my Art Journal.  Now I will just wait and see how they get filled!

Summer of Color Week FIVE

Here is my entry for the Summer of Color 3 Challenge this week: Candy Apple Red and Yellow. Inspiration from my lunch. Watercolours and a black liner pen.

Doodle Camp 2013

I am taking a fun online course this week, called Doodle Camp 2013, run by Dawn DeVries Sokol.  It has been a lot of fun so far, even though I have just started to work on it. (It is a good think it is self-paced, or I would be in trouble!)

Summer Of Color Week FOUR

Here is my entry for the Summer of Color 3 Challenge this week:  Charcoal Grey and Pale Pink.  Copic Markers all the way with this one...

Friday, June 28, 2013

Here is my entry for the Summer of Color 3 Challenge this week:  Purple and Lime Green.  Once again I used watercolors to create the foundation, finishing with a quote in Copic Markers.

Summer of Color 3, Week 2, Orange and Hot Pink

Here is my entry for the Summer of Color 3 Challenge this week:  Orange and Hot Pink.  I used watercolors to create the foundation, then built upon it with pens, and finally, some acrylic ink for highlights and texture.  This page in my art journal is now just waiting for me to write something profound on it!

Headband for Robin

There is no better way to spend a Saturday in January than watching movies and knitting!  When I saw that my niece Robin had liked a knitted headband just like this on Pinterest, I thought I would knit one for her.  I found a similar pattern on Ravelry, and by Sunday, I had one ready for her!
